About the Role

The Senior Finance Business Analyst is responsible for the preparation of key deliverables including end of month reporting, rolling forecast, annual budget, operating and Business unit expenditure, the long term financial strategy and performance monitoring for two largest business units in RDA. The role will have the opportunity to prepare and understand PnL, Balance sheet and Cash flow statements along with key project performance and overhead cost drivers for monthly results and deliver actionable insights that inform high-stakes decisions; be able to present the financial KPIs with business knowledge and adding value to stakeholders for management decision making and operational efficiencies.

As Senior Finance Business Analyst, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

• Support the development, communication and monitoring of RDA’s Reporting and Planning Framework which encompasses of cost analysis and budget delivery, process optimization , performance measures, and the variance analysis;
• Provide reporting, analysis and advice to business units management relating to actuals, budgets, and forecasts of financial performance and measurement
• Responsible for business unit Financial Management, Business overview, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Responsible for coordinating and consolidating various data to provide Business Overview in Quarterly forecast and Mid-Term-Planning
• Liaise with Project Managers and Controllers on their performance against budget/forecast and provide specialist financial management advice on budget control and forecast outcomes;
• Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of RDA’s Long Term Financial Plan and its strategic and operational objectives;
• Undertake business case analysis in support of major projects across the organisation as required;
• Responsible for delivery of monthly, quarterly and yearly business units financial reports and forecasts including detailed comparable and variance analysis and insightful commentary;
• Responsible for delivery of management reporting presentation packs to support domestic Business Review, divisional Business Review and Board/Supervisory Committee meetings;
• Contribute to the development of the monthly reporting regime, quarterly performance reports, and the Annual Report; and
• Undertake regular budget variance reviews to ensure on-going corporate budget control.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Finance/ Accounting/ Commerce or related disciplines;
• CPA/CA/CGMA qualified with 5+ years experience on similar role;
• Expert experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling;
• Experience in project cost planning, scheduling and development of financial reports and analysis;
• Advanced MS Office skills i.e. Excel, Powerpoint; and
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
