What are the application and relocation requirements?
All international appointments as part of this recruitment campaign will be hired on local employment agreements. What that means is that applicants will need to meet and be eligible for visa sponsorship to secure an offer of employment with Rheinmetall Defence Australia, if you do not hold relevant citizenship.

Below is some additional information to consider before applying to ensure you meet the eiligibility requirements to be issued a visa and to ensure your candidancy to relocate to Australia.
What is a TSS Visa?
To meet the Australian Government requirements to obtain a TSS Visa (sponsored by Rheinmetall) the applicant must meet the following criteria in their area of expertise:
 
  • Must demonstrate you have the qualifications, skills and experience necessary to perform the nominated occupation;
  • Must have at least 2 years relevant work experience in the nominated occupation;
  • Some primary TSS visa applicants must undergo a mandatory skills assessment as part of the visa application; and
  • Must meet character and relevant health assessments.
Which types of TSS Visas are there?
There are currently three (3) types of sponsorship visas available:
 
  • Short “Subclass 482” (short visa stream is 2 years without Permanent Residency pathway)
    • Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (subclass 482)
  • Medium “Subclass 482” (visa stream is up to 4 years and eligible for Permanent Residency pathway if all conditions are met)
    • Temporary Skill Shortage visa (subclass 482)
  • Long term “Subclass 494” (visa stream up to 4 years and eligible for Permanent Residency pathway in regional locations only, if all conditions are met)
    • Designated regional area postcodes

Please note: You must work only in the occupation (position) nominated in your TSS visa application.  You cannot work in a different occupation (position), even a role expansion.  It will need to be assessed by the Global Mobility team to determine if a new TSS visa needs to be applied.
Which language requirements need to be met?
English tests are mandatory as part of the visa application process and will need to be conducted as part of the eligibilty.

Below is a list of exemptions to completing the English test:
 
  • You are a passport holder from:
    • Canada
    • New Zealand
    • The Republic of Ireland
    • United Kingdom
    • United States of America
  • You have completd at least 5 years full time study in at least a secondary level Institution and where most classes are in English.
What relocation support does Rheinmetall offer?
Rheinmetall will provide full service assistance with your relocation to Australia once successful.

We have a dedicated Global Mobility team based in Brisbane and Melbourne who will step you through each part of the visa application and relocation process, e.g. for relocation, Visas, translation of documentation, tax support as well as allowances and benefits. We also partner with some external organisations to ensure your move is as smooth and stress free as possible.
