In our electrics/electronics production, we produce technologically sophisticated assemblies for our vehicle systems, especially in the areas of wiring, control electronics and power distribution. The spectrum of your new tasks ranges from prototypes and qualification to the production of a small series. We ensure our high quality standards through 100 percent testing of all components on test benches developed in-house.

As Head of Department E-Production at Rheinmetall Landsystem GmbH, I am responsible for production and logistics at the Kiel site. The special thing about our team is the great cooperation, the respectful interaction and the meeting of all team members at eye level - which is particularly important to me.

I am a project manager in the Operations department. This is an interface between various projects and electronics production. It combines the areas of material supply, production control and work preparation. I coordinate the deadlines and requirements of electronic components for various vehicle projects.
How did your career path lead you to Rheinmetall?
After leaving school, I trained as an electronics technician for devices and systems in the German Armed Forces. This was followed by a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in industrial engineering. During my studies, I was already working as a student trainee for Rheinmetall and it was clear to me that I wanted to stay.
Why did you choose Rheinmetall as an employer?
I have a great interest in technology, especially military technology. Rheinmetall is a leader in this field in Germany. So the decision was easy.
Why do you enjoy your job?
What I find particularly great about my job is that I can work with different employees across departments and plants. That makes the work varied. We also develop exciting technologies. Starting with individual connecting cables and fiber optic cables, through to entire assemblies, such as computer units and our own PCB production. Everything is represented at the Kiel site.
How has Rheinmetall supported you on your career path
Rheinmetall supported me by offering me training courses to further develop my skills and knowledge. Visiting other company sites gave me a better understanding of the structures within the Group and I was able to build up a network of colleagues with whom I still work closely today.

With a technical degree in electromobility, I already have an exciting professional journey behind me. Originally working in project coordination, I discovered my passion for the electrical industry and complex technical challenges. This led me to a career change. Today I work in production control at Rheinmetall.
What characterizes your working day?
Due to the many different projects and the scope of our assemblies, it never gets boring. Our good planning and the positive energy in the team make everyday life run smoothly. You have responsibility, but you don't feel overwhelmed by it.
How did your start at Rheinmetall go?
Rheinmetall gave me a very good start at the company with professional onboarding. After a detailed induction by my colleagues, I was able to take on responsibility for planning and managing the hydraulics division. I am heavily involved in the entire business of new production and maintenance.

What career path led you to Rheinmetall?
My professional career began with an apprenticeship as an electronics technician for devices and systems in the German Armed Forces. I then gained valuable experience in the field of medium-voltage construction in the railroad sector. Today, I can put this expertise to good use in my work in the field of cable construction to produce fiber optic cables for various vehicles.
What characterizes the cooperation with your superiors?
I appreciate the "open-door mentality". I always have the feeling that I can go to my superiors and discuss suggestions for improvement as well as personal concerns with them.
What makes your day-to-day work unique?
I enjoy my varied work, which is always characterized by new challenges. I particularly appreciate the close cross-departmental collaboration, which broadens my professional horizons.

Project planner/process planner
Please briefly describe your background and how you started at Rheinmetall.
After four years in manufacturing, two in testing and qualifying as a state-certified technician, I knew that I wanted to work as a project planner. At my old company, there was no demand for this position in the next few years. I value a secure, social and fair workplace in a maritime environment and this took me to Rheinmetall Landsysteme in Kiel. I was welcomed by a young and motivated team and settled in quickly.
What do your days look like?
I work in work preparation for electronic components. My day-to-day jobs include processing and preparing work plans and parts lists, maintaining the change process, creating time and quantity structures and optimizing production processes. I also get to do many interesting tasks related to restructuring and optimizing production areas.
Why do you enjoy your job?
As a project planner, you are there throughout the entire process of a component, from development to the finished item. You can collaborate and contribute your ideas everywhere.
