My working days are extremely varied. I create content for our social media channels, help draft press releases, respond to press enquiries and write my own articles for our corporate magazine DIMENSIONS. External engagements such as trade fairs, press events or interviews are particularly exciting. As a lot happens dynamically and at short notice in press relations, no two days are the same.

My team places a great deal of trust in me. A concrete example is managing individual social media projects independently: from the initial idea through content creation to posting and monitoring, I am responsible for the success of the post. I hadn’t expected at the start that, as a working student, I would be so deeply involved in strategic press relations and be allowed to contribute to projects with such a high public profile.

My team is fully understanding of exam periods and lecture timetables. Thanks to flexible working hours, I can combine both worlds without stress and meaningfully link theory and practice. This flexibility and the open communication within the team are invaluable to me as a student.

I have learnt to communicate complex and sometimes highly technical issues precisely and in a way that is tailored to the target audience. This ability to ‘get to the point’ also helps me enormously with my academic assignments. I have also been able to strengthen my multitasking skills and my resilience to stress.
