The Development Management Department is responsible for the overall planning and management of our software development projects. We ensure that all projects are implemented in line with the objectives of time, cost and quality.

A particular focus is placed on architectural and technological responsibility in order to ensure a future-proof and consistent system landscape. At the same time, we coordinate the individual work packages and create the basis for efficient and successful project processes.

Intelligent systems for a connected world

The Artificial Intelligence & Computer Vision department develops technologies that enable our systems to perceive their environment and process complex environmental information.

Using innovative machine learning methods, we analyse and process a wide variety of sensor data, thereby creating the basis for AI-based assistance systems. This is complemented by powerful image and video processing algorithms that enhance images, recognise patterns and process video data efficiently.

Precision in simulation for sea, air and land

The Model Development Department is the heart of mathematical and physical modelling within central software development. This is where high-precision and detailed simulations for the sea, air and land domains are created.

Our work includes modelling technical platforms for ships, submarines and power plants, as well as simulating complex weapon systems, driving, control and command stations. In addition, we develop models that faithfully replicate the movement behaviour of aircraft, vehicles and ships.

With our innovative solutions, we create the basis for realistic and powerful simulators that are used in a wide variety of applications. Our tailor-made models transform abstract topics into tangible results.

Intelligent control for real and virtual systems

The Central Logic Department develops the business logic behind our software solutions and forms the backbone for control and simulation systems.

Our specialist areas cover a broad spectrum: from the development of logic for real hardware systems such as tower controls and stabilised platforms to state machines for simulators and control components for simulator operation. A particular focus is on the development of Computer Generated Forces (CGF), which control the behaviour of computer-controlled units in simulators.

Our work creates intelligent solutions that precisely control systems and enable realistic simulations.

The foundation for efficient software development

The Software Fundamentals Department develops tools and workflows that support and optimise the entire software life cycle – from development and build to testing and deployment.

We focus on providing modern development and build environments and managing powerful database systems. At the same time, we take care of staging and production environments and ensure that software can be deployed smoothly and efficiently.

Using modern DevOps principles, we lay the foundations for innovative, reliable and future-proof software development.

Communication solutions that connect

The Software Interfaces Department develops middleware for controlling central interfaces (e.g. data models for TCP/IP connections). It ensures that processes, systems and devices can interact seamlessly with each other – internally, externally and in terms of hardware. One focus is on harmonising existing proprietary interfaces through innovative concepts. This also includes tools for analysing the flow of information across the various networks. Interfaces are implemented between many computers, to products from other manufacturers, and data connections between distant locations.

Another focus is the simulation of communication systems, including the output of sounds and connection to real radio devices or telephones. In this way, we create reliable connections between virtual and real worlds.

Computer graphics for innovative applications

The Visual Services department develops advanced solutions in the field of computer graphics. Our focus is on computer-aided image generation and processing, virtual environments, geoinformation systems, geometric model design and human-machine interaction.

Our work is divided into several areas: from the creation of impressive computer-generated images (CGI) to the development of digital twins and GIS solutions to 2D and 3D graphics with user-friendly interfaces.

With our technologies, we create the visual basis for forward-looking applications and innovative user experiences.
