Team Lead Engineering

Dr.-Ing. Florian F. completed his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Machine Elements and Design Technology at the University of Kassel. After five years as an engine developer, he joined Rheinmetall as an engineer responsible for integrating powertrains into wheeled vehicles. Since 2021, he has been leading the engineering team.

Why did you choose Rheinmetall as your employer?

I chose Rheinmetall because it allows me to focus on the development of complete vehicle systems.

What are your daily tasks?

As a team lead, about one-third of my daily responsibilities involve workforce and training planning, as well as fostering the professional development of my team members. Additionally, I work on vehicle concepts, engaging in discussions that evolve from broad system-level designs to detailed engineering solutions.

What technologies do you work with?

I work with both traditional powertrain technologies and innovative electrification systems.

How has Rheinmetall supported you in your career?

During my time at Rheinmetall, I have been consistently supported and encouraged, particularly by being given the opportunity to take ownership of my own projects early on.

Which support programs at Rheinmetall are important to you, and why?

I greatly value the fitness programs offered. I also frequently take advantage of employee discounts and the bike- leasing program. Additionally, I regularly utilize our e-learning platform to further my skills and knowledge.
