Uncrewed ground vehicles – American Rheinmetall
Rheinmetall’s Uncrewed Ground Vehicles (UGVs) are advanced robotic platforms designed to enhance military operations by providing uncrewed support in hazardous and demanding environments. These vehicles are equipped with innovative autonomous navigational systems, allowing them to perform a wide range of tasks such as resupply, reconnaissance, and casualty evacuation, without putting human warfighters at risk. With their rugged construction and high mobility, they can operate on the most challenging terrains for urban or rough off-road missions.
Rheinmetall’s UGVs can be integrated with various payloads, including sensors, weapons, and cargo modules, making them highly versatile and adaptable for different mission requirements. By leveraging artificial intelligence and autonomy, these vehicles offer significant operational flexibility, helping to reduce the logistical burden on human forces while improving overall mission efficiency and safety.
American Rheinmetall is one of two companies competing in the U.S. Army’s Small Multi-Purpose Equipment Transport vehicle (S-MET) program. American Rheinmetall’s uncrewed ground vehicle (UGV) provides the Army with a versatile and resilient platform capable of efficiently transporting supplies and equipment over rugged terrain to support combat operations. American Rheinmetall will manufacture and deliver eight prototypes to the Army in 2025 for testing, evaluation, and to compete against the platform delivered by the second awardee before the Army downselects to a single platform and the program transitions to full scale production.
