General Manager – Tactical Vehicles

About the Team

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute General Manager – Tactical Vehicles to lead a key business unit delivering advanced mobility capability to the Defence sector. This executive role will drive performance across operations, engineering, sustainment and program delivery within a complex, highly regulated environment.  

About the Role

Forming a key part of our executive leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the Tactical Vehicles portfolio. This includes the supply and manufacturing of armoured platforms, fleet sustainment and capability upgrades ensuring delivery of reliable, mission ready vehicles that meet the evolving needs of Defence capability.

You will play a critical role in shaping long term strategy, strengthening sovereign capability and positioning the business for future growth in both domestic and export markets.

You are an accomplished senior and strategic leader with deep experience in Defence Acquisition Programs, Automotive or Heavy Vehicle Manufacturing environments. You bring strong commercial acumen, operational discipline and the ability to lead large scale and highly complex programs.  

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

• Significant senior leadership experience operating within a $300M AUD (or larger) business, with accountability for performance and growth;
• Experience with Tactical, Military or Heavy Vehicle platforms (assembly, integration and sustainment);
• Strong cost and budget management and commercial leadership capability;
• Demonstrated success delivering complex programs to Government clients (local and international;
• Deep understanding of quality, safety and compliance frameworks;
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills across Defence, Industry and Government;
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to build and inspire high performing teams;
• Demonstrated technical and professional capabilities in engineering, business and/or other related fields; and
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance – NV1 (Australian Citizenship required).
