Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that products and services meet established standards, compliance, and customer expectations by developing quality control processes, conducting audits, and leading continuous improvement initiatives
- Standards & Procedures: define, document, and implement quality standards, specifications, and procedures for products and processes
- Quality Control & Assurance: monitor, test, and inspect products and raw materials throughout the production cycle to ensure they meet requirements
- Auditing & Compliance: plan and execute internal audits and ensure compliance with legal, safety, and industry standards (e.g., ISO)
- Continuous Improvement: use data analysis (e.g., SPC, root cause analysis) to identify defects, reduce waste, and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Team Leadership: lead, train, and supervise quality assurance personnel
- Supplier Management: review and approve supplier quality standards and materials
- Reporting & Communication: prepare quality reports for senior management and act as a point of contact for customer complaints
Tasks
- Oversee Quality teams, analyze data for defects, manage supplier quality, and ensure adherence to safety and legal regulations
- Develop, implement and optimize the local Quality Management strategy
- Lead, train and develop teams and team leads to ensure the capabilities and skills of the staff meet the programme schedules and quality of all supplied items
- Proactive Quality-network engagement and partnering with peers, single point of contact for the Rheinmetall business unit Tactical Vehicles and RHHU in the tasks, such as status of Quality management activities
- Develop and report quality KPIs
- Manage the deparment budget
- Active participation in different Program, RHHU and Rheinmetall Group activities
- Conduct regular documented inspection of work areas
- Familiarity and compliance with the legal requirements, standards, and internal regulations of the company
- Supervise the proper operation of quality management systems
- Minimum bachelor's degree in quality management, manufacturing- or mechanical engineering or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in quality management and manufacturing technology (assembly, machining)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in complex discrete manufacturing
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), and industry-specific regulations
- Knowledge in Material technology, manufacturing methods and technology in comparable field of industry: e.g. automotive, defence, aerospace
- Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Strong executive communication
- Reporting,presentation as well as negotiation and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skill with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects
- Knowledge of MS office and SAP
- Proficient or advanced level of German and English languages
