WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The BOXER 8x8 is the leading armoured vehicle with a multi-national user background that has been developed in a joint co-operation programme between Germany and the Netherlands by the international consortium ARTEC GmbH in Munich, Germany. ARTEC is a joint-venture of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG, Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. It is the prime contractor responsible for the BOXER Programme, the co-ordination of series production and the focal point for export opportunities. Annual sales are normally between 200 and 300 million EUR and as of 2023 more than 1,300 BOXER vehicles have been contracted. Further large-scale projects are in the pipeline.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are two-fold

  • Coordination and management of the industrial consortium in all system safety management matters vis-à-vis the public client
  • Independent review and, if necessary, support in the implementation of safety analyses, e.g. hazard analysis, G&R, FTA, FMEA, FMEDA etc.
  • Management of safety-related interfaces between specific systems within the industrial consortium across all relevant technologies including mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and software
  • Verification of safety artefacts
  • Checking compliance with regulations and checking compliance with all safety aspects
  • Approval of technical changes to safety-relevant assemblies/functions
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
  • Completed studies in the fields of electronics or electrical or industrial engineering, aerospace engineering, automotive engineering or similar
  • Several years of professional experience in the desired field, preferably also system engineers with experience in the field of product/operational safety
  • Experience in managing and coordinating international projects and contractors
  • Knowledge of the military sector is an advantage - knowledge of vehicle construction is desirable, but not a must
  • Knowledge in the areas of product safety / standards / functional safety (e.g. IEC 61508, ISO 26262 or Mil-Std 882E)
  • Initial knowledge of fault tree analysis (e.g. Reliability Workbench) and requirement management databases (e.g. DOORS) or specific safety management tools
  • Good analytical skills, teamwork and a holistic view of problem solving
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
