About Us

Rheinmetall Weapons and Ammunition UK (RWM UK) is part of the defence engineering company Rheinmetall AG based in Germany. We design, manufacture and support military large-calibre weapon systems used by the British Army and international customers.

RWM UK is now starting a new production site in Telford and we are recruiting for Logistics Manager who will be responsible for the external logistical aspects for the production of large-calibre weapon systems.

Position Responsibilities

• Import of machinery, tools, production materials, etc. from Germany
• Import of raw parts and semi-finished workpieces from Germany in compliance with legal regulations (e.g. weapons of war permits)
• Close coordination with the relevant customs and security authorities
• Shipping of machined components to subcontractors in compliance with legal regulations
• Shipping of weapon systems for acceptance firing and return transport in compliance with legal regulations – as well as the import and storage of acceptance ammunition together with the firing range provider
• Export of weapon systems to international customers in compliance with legal regulations
• Identification and selection of suitable and approved logistics partners
• Application for any necessary permits
• Close coordination with German colleagues
• Development and establishment of necessary logistics processes

Essential:

• Successfully completed commercial training (e.g. freight forwarding agent) with relevant professional experience
• Experience in an industrial company or a freight forwarding company with relevant professional experience in administrative shipping processing
• Experience with import and export between the European Union and the UK
• Experience in handling high-value parts and legally highly regulated goods
• Good IT skills (especially Microsoft Office)
• Experience with ERP-System (e.g. SAP)
• Good written and spoken English skills
• High level of organizational and coordination skills and a strong service orientation
• Experience in comparing and selecting different logistics providers

• Language skills in German
• SC clearance 
•  Professional experience in the defence industry
