WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide comprehensive administrative, coordination and data support to the Maintenance department in the planning, scheduling and administration of maintenance activities. The role will assist with SAP administration, work orders, maintenance schedules, backlog management, preventive maintenance, reporting, data capturing and general maintenance admin activities.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Assist the Maintenance Management team in balancing weekly schedules and artisan capacities.
- Review, verify, and close out maintenance requests on SAP, ensuring high-quality technical feedback.
- Monitor maintenance backlogs and compile weekly/monthly performance reports (e.g., PM compliance, breakdown rates).
- Draw and track stock items and raise purchase requisitions on SAP.
- Manage, track, and archive all legal and statutory inspection certificates to ensure continuous audit readiness.
- Coordinate documentation and site-access requirements for external engineering contractors.
- Assist with all mechanical maintenance-related administration, documentation and record keeping.
- Create, capture and maintain maintenance-related information accurately and timeously on SAP and other relevant systems.
- Obtain supplier quotations for mechanical spares, materials, equipment and services as required.
- Assist with identifying required mechanical spares, components, consumables and materials.
- Check and monitor stock availability and assist with identifying shortages and replenishment requirements.
- Assist with maintaining mechanical equipment files, maintenance records, manuals, certificates, drawings and other technical documentation.
- Assist with preparing documentation and information required for planned, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Develop and maintain a basic understanding of mechanical equipment, components, spare parts and maintenance terminology.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach by identifying outstanding administrative requirements and following up to ensure completion.
- Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
POST REQUIREMENTS
- Senior National Certification (with Mathematics)
- NQF 5 Certificate in Administration & Logistics.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Strong analytical capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and high attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, components and maintenance principles.
- Basic understanding of maintenance terminology.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple administrative tasks.
- Valid driver’s license
