Change in Rheinmetall AG's Executive Board: Vera Saal promoted to the Executive Board – Ursula Biernert-Kloß leaves the company

  • Dr Vera Saal succeeds Dr Ursula Biernert-Kloß
  • Change effective as of 1 September 2025
  • CEO Armin Papperger to take over role of Labour Director on an interim basis

The Supervisory Board of Rheinmetall AG announces that Dr Ursula Biernert-Kloß, member of the Executive Board and Labour Director of Rheinmetall AG, has agreed with the Supervisory Board to leave Rheinmetall on 31 August 2025.

The reason for this is a difference of opinion on strategic issues. "We would like to thank Dr. Biernert-Kloß for her work for the Rheinmetall Group. We wish her all the best for her future, both personally and professionally," said Ulrich Grillo, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Rheinmetall AG.

Effective 1 September 2025, Dr Vera Saal will join the Management Board as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Labour Director of Rheinmetall AG. Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall AG, will take over the role of CHRO and Labour Director on an interim basis until 31 August 2025.

Dr Vera Saal (47), currently Executive Vice President Labour Relations, Long and Short Term Incentives at Rheinmetall AG, has held various HR management positions within the Rheinmetall Group for 15 years. Prior to this, the doctor of law worked as a lawyer in a leading labour law firm and then as a labour lawyer in the human resources department of the Generali Group.
