Joint training network solutions

Distributed Synthetic Training

Rheinmetall has longstanding expertise in simulation networking with standardized interfaces, enabling increased scenarios and extended operational complexity. The networking of different systems enables more complex scenarios for joint and combined training and operational preparation, for example of a task force.

Key activities include the provision of services, technologies and tools for creating integrated environments for live/virtual/constructive simulation (LVC). This enables joint and combined training, the development and testing of operational procedures, and functional analyses of connected systems.

One example of networked training is the Distributed Training Environment for the German Navy.

1633

As part of synthetic training (LVC training), the Distributed Training Architecture Navy networks various simulation rooms at different Bundeswehr locations and enables command teams at all levels of command to conduct operations using simulations. The focus of DTEN is on the training of operational units and command teams. The training is realistic, distributed and independent of external influences. It takes place at both national and international level. Based on a hardened IT infrastructure, operational training and certifications (force integration training) are carried out independently of environmental influences, geographical factors and the availability of real units. In accordance with the live-virtual-constructive principle and corresponding NATO specifications (NATO LVC-T), training is transferred to people at significant locations. Within the framework of simulation and wargaming, added value is generated in terms of naval combat capabilities in the context of multi-domain operations and integrated into the realities of missions.
