Fuchs Evolution

An icon fit for the future

Versatile and always ready for action

Since its introduction, the Fuchs armoured personnel carrier (APC) has proven itself in the German Armed Forces and is considered the backbone of all branches of the military. The Fuchs APC has been introduced across all branches of the armed forces as a capability carrier and enjoys a very high reputation among the troops due to its unrivalled operational readiness and high availability – unique for vehicle systems in this weight and protection class. Of the more than 1,400 vehicles originally built for the German Armed Forces, over 800 systems in more than 40 different variants are still in use.

Further development of a proven vehicle concept

Mobility, protection and unrivalled operational readiness are the key features of Rheinmetall's proven 6x6 armoured platform. The Fuchs Evolution represents a significant further development of the proven vehicle concept and leads to an increase in combat effectiveness in all dimensions.

The APC Fuchs is MOTS

The APC Fuchs is available as a military-off-the-shelf solution ready for immediate deployment. With up to 95% of the value added generated in Germany, Rheinmetall continues to focus on the highest quality and domestic manufacturing expertise for its tactical vehicles.

Enhanced mobility, increased driving comfort and digital vehicle architecture

The Fuchs Evolution is ready for the future. Thanks to a significant increase in the performance of the automotive components, which are combined in a new powertrain, the system achieves unparalleled mobility and agility, putting it on a par with the GTK Boxer. The future-oriented vehicle architecture is fully digital and allows for easy integration of any C4I equipment.

Adaptable and variable for all requirements

The Fuchs Evolution offers a high degree of variability even in its basic configuration. An armour kit can be integrated into both an amphibious lightly armoured version and a highly armoured version (protection against gunfire, IEDs and mines). This means that the Fuchs Evolution can be used as a troop transporter, command and reconnaissance vehicle, combat support vehicle in the engineer or medical corps, or, with an integrated medium-calibre turret, in the combat forces.

Suitable for the next 20 years

The Fuchs Evolution offers a comprehensive renewal and further development of the vehicle system, enabling it to be used for decades to come. Rheinmetall provides consistent technical and logistical support for this purpose.

One platform, many capabilities

The Fuchs Evolution armoured transport vehicle can accommodate and even expand on the existing installation kits of the established Fuchs family of armoured transport vehicles. Thanks to the flexibility of its interior design and the high free capacity in the areas of electrics, mechanics and hydraulics, almost any type of installation kit can be implemented on the Fuchs Evolution. Possible vehicle variants are:

  • Group vehicle
  • Medical vehicle
  • Engineering vehicle or explosive ordnance disposal
  • Radar and mast-mounted systems
  • Command vehicle
  • Electronic warfare
  • Artillery observer

FUCHS Reconnaissance Vehicle NG – Protected Reconnaissance Vehicle

Highly mobile reconnaissance

The evolutionary stage as a protected reconnaissance vehicle can be recognised externally by the modernised vehicle design and the turret with the machine gun. This variant can be used to implement a wide range of functional capabilities for national and alliance defence in the field of reconnaissance forces.

Equipped with a remote-controlled medium-calibre weapon system, two independent remote observation optronics, a 360° panoramic vision system, laser and acoustic warning sensors and countermeasures, the vehicle can detect enemy movements at an early stage, evade them immediately and collect valuable reconnaissance data at the same time. With an optional twinned operator station with NATO GVA interfaces, the commander and operator can switch and take over tasks.

The FUCHS Evolution is closely linked logistically to the BOXER and PUMA programmes and ensures the operational capability of the fleet until 2040 and beyond.

FUCHS San – Protected medical vehicle

Highly mobile lifesaver

The high-roof version of this evolutionary model stands out thanks to its modernised design and increased roof height. This version offers a wide range of functional capabilities for national and allied defence in the field of medical services.

The Fuchs Evolution can transport up to four wounded persons: two lying down, two sitting or, in a modular configuration, up to four lying down. This is achieved by increasing the interior height of the transport compartment to 1.60 m, which allows for an improved seating and carrying system.

FUCHS JGAM – Protected Tank Destroyer

Highly Mobile Tank Destroyer

The tank destroyer based on the FUCHS armoured transport vehicle is a highly mobile tank destroyer for rapid deployment against enemy armoured and unarmoured vehicles. It combines the proven mobility of the vehicle with a specialised anti-tank weapon and modern reconnaissance systems. With its anti-tank missiles, the vehicle is capable of engaging a large number of battle tanks in quick succession without having to reload immediately. The launcher brings Lockheed Martin's Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) family and M299 launcher to vehicles and ships, utilising designs and technologies from the MK41 Vertical Launching System (VLS). The MK 41 VLS, in conjunction with an innovative gas management system, ensures that missiles can be fired in any vehicle position and terrain.
