Bridge-laying tank Biber

The Biber bridge-laying tank continues to play a frontline role on the modern battlefield. Thanks to its horizontal laying system, the Biber can bridge natural and artificial obstacles in just two minutes, with no need for the crew to leave the safety of the fighting compartment. Four metres wide and 22 metres long, the resulting bridge can be recovered on either side of the obstacle. The effective span-width is 20 metres, meaning that the temporary two-part tank bridge is able to cross most barriers.
