Loitering munitions
Flexible precision for tomorrow's battlefield
Loitering munition systems (LMS) ) combine reconnaissance and precision strike capabilities in a single platform. They bridge the gap between classic drones and conventional artillery. Potential targets can be observed autonomously or remotely over extended periods of time and engaged with precision at the decisive moment. Thanks to modular sensor technology, long range and networked mission control, LMS are an effective tool on modern battlefields, where responsiveness and situational awareness are crucial.
* The term loitering munition (“LM” for short) is derived from the munition’s ability to remain undetected in the airspace above the target area for an extended period of time and to strike when the right moment arrives.

The FV-014 is designed as a flexible, tactical kamikaze drone that provides soldiers in combat with a rapidly deployable, highly effective striking capability from a distance. The FV-014 combines high precision with controllable impact, offering the ultimate combination of intelligence and striking power. Developed and produced in Germany, Rheinmetall guarantees the highest quality, rapid availability and perfect integration into national and international armed forces.
The HERO family comprises several loitering munition systems for different ranges and types of targets. These include the HERO 30, HERO 120 and HERO 400. The systems range from light and portable systems to heavy, long-range weapons. All models combine reconnaissance and precision strike capabilities in a single system and can be integrated into networked mission command structures.
