Support Lab activities in prototyping, development and warranty analysis activities.

Manage (plan) and lead all design validation and product validation activities (DV/PV): lead all activities required with the support of Test Engineers and/or Technicians, assigned by the Team Leader Testing and Prototyping.

Secure: procurement of samples for DV/PV, by coordinating needs with the Prototyping Development Coordinator; support of Technicians or Testing Engineers to execute the plan, assigned by the Team Leader Testing and Prototyping; final teardown analysis of samples with the support of the Prototyping Development Coordinator.

Manage tracking of heads and benches utilization, to secure availability of resources for DV/PV and prototyping/warranty/returns activities (in coordination with the Prototyping Development Coordinator);

Responsible of meeting product testing timeline (with support of responsible Testing Engineer assigned by the Team Leader Testing and Prototyping). Responsible to escalate to the responsible Engineer in case of potential delays.

Lead expansion of testing capabilities: coordinate all activities required to expand testing capabilities and processes for all established Mechatronics NAFTA products, with the support of the competent Testing Engineer, assigned by the Team Leader Testing and Prototyping.

Support purchasing of outside services and equipment (write technical specifications, support sourcing) as needed to expand and secure testing activities

Support and manage correlation of benches with competence centers in Europe

Support engineering in development of product improvement concepts or cost reduction activities

Lead/support the team to meet the Lab KPI targets (e.g. 5S housekeeping and on/time activities completion)

Comply with requirements, regulations and company procedures

Ensure that the status and documentation of the test benches/equipment is line with the requirements and standards


Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering OR associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electric/Electronics and at least 6 years’ experience in in testing of powertrain or automotive components OR 2 years’ experience in a program or project manager role or development engineer role

Experience in testing or prototyping of powertrain or automotive components preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Willingness to travel as needed and to work abroad for training purposes
