The Configuration Management Lead is responsible for managing multi-functional teams for the change & release-board(s) for Rheinmetall´s weapon turret systems.This key strategic position is a pivotal role focusing mainly on the successful delivery of infantry fighting vehicles (e.g. Boxer CRV, Lynx) for our international projects.

The Tasks will include:

  • Responsible for managing the multi-functional team(s) for the change & release-board(s) for weapon turret system.
  • Organize, steer and execute the change & release boards.
  • Analyse all changes in terms of quality, cost & time as well as fit, form & function. 
  • Monitor the product structure in accordance to variant & version management.
  • Check completeness of all data and documents prior to the change and/or release process.
  • Stakeholder-management for all internal domains and external suppliers along the entire value-add-chain and product life-cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with the global change process.
  • Reporting and release of the maturity status to the project leader and the PMO on the basis of the changed and/or released data.
  • Acting as an internal consultant responsible for regular awareness sessions, trainings and technical support for all internal employees and external contractors.
  • Participate and Contribute to the improvement of processes, methods and tools concerning CM.
  • Support and prepare documentation for internal, external and customer CM audits.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Technical Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrics/Electronics, Aerospace, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering or industrial engineering and management.
  • Broad experience with requirement based engineering and system engineering, nice to have is working experience with IBM rational DOORS.
  • Exzellent stakeholder management.
  • Result-oriented, assertive and strong negotiation skills.
  • Other essential requirements are logical and analytical skills, strong motivation, ability to think in terms of networks, willingness to work in teams, mobility and mental flexibility and resilience.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Profound knowledge in the use of MS Office.      
  • CMII-certification desired.
  • Profound knowledge of developing and working with ERP and PLM/PDM systems is beneficial.
  • Previous Defence Industry experience in delivering complex platforms/systems is beneficial.
  • Be eligible for Government Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment screening.
