Air surveillance is one of our core competences, which is done with the adoption of a variety of sensors like radar and electro-optical devices. In order to keep up with new threats like very agile UAVs, tracking algorithms have to be adapted to these threats. The primary goal of this internship is to design an innovative, flexible, and adaptive filter for target trajectory prediction starting from real sensor data or from data generated by a target model in a synthetic environment. This filter can be realized for example with "classic" estimation algorithms assisted by ML classification techniques or it may be based on reinforcement learning.



  • Bachelor/Master student in data/computer science or electrical/mechanical engineering or similar
  • Working knowledge of Deep-Learning and/or multivariate time series prediction
  • Working knowledge of data visualization techniques
  • Experience with Python programming on Linux
  • Prior Experience with synthetic data generation or 3D geometry processing is a strong plus
  • Experience with Tensorflow/Keras is a plus
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink is a plus
  • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented work attitude
