  • Optimization of the global raw materials strategy
  • Adjustment and optimization of the global supplier base
  • Support of risk, capacity and bottleneck management
  • Support and lead a team of local buyers
  • Negotiation of global contracts and prices
  • Identification and approval of new suppliers
  • Support of benchmarking activities
  • Conducting and supporting on-site workshops and audits
  • Supplier visits

The position is to be based in Neuss, Germany or Livorno, Italy.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Successfully completed technical studies
  • At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a global purchasing organization with a background in the automotive or mechanical engineering industry
  • Experience on elastomer and chemical commodities is a plus
  • Good technical knowledge of production processes
  • Good MS-Office and SAP knowledge
  • High intercultural competence and strong communication skills
  • Negotiation skills and experience
  • Leadership qualities and pleasure in teamwork
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Willingness to travel
