WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

For the future training center for the Franco-German C-130J transport aircraft fleet in Évreux, we are currently looking for a Head of Training (m/f/d). In this positions you are responsible to ensure the maintenance training needs and the training requirements as well as managing the Ground Crew team. Within the Ground Crew Instructor role, would also be conducting training and examinations on theoretical and practical level for the technical personnel to be trained.

Your tasks:

  • Identify and assess future and current training needs and requirements for the training of C-130J technical staff according to the applicable regulatory requirements, as well as customer requirements
  • Create an overall or individualized training and development plan and coordinate it with international project partners
  • Preparation and maintenance of all training documents for technical training
  • Supervise all technical trainers including monitoring KPIs, attendance and performance
  • Assist in the selection and management of external experts as necessary for the delivery of training services
  • Ensure that sufficient qualified technical teaching staff are available to fulfil the required training role of the company
  • Regularly monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness, success and return on investment of training programs
  • Act as trainers and/or examiners as required, subject to availability
  • Provide opportunities for continued development and training
  • Resolve specific problems and adapt training programs as needed and based on contractual client requirements
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of training trends, developments and best practices
  • Prepare, conduct and follow up training and examinations for the technical functional and test personnel to be trained based on aviation regulatory and customer requirements
  • Reporting and regular meetings with the EMAR MTO Accountable Manager

 

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Completed B1 or B2 type training course for the type C-130 or completed type rating course C-160 Transall
  • 5 years maintenance experience of which at least 2 years experience on aircraft type C-130 or C-160 Transall
  • Part-66 license with the relevant type rating for C-130 or C-160 Transall (at least 2 years experience) 
  • Previous experience as MTO head of training is highly considered
  • Understanding of the relevant processes and regulatory requirements of civil and military aviation technical training requirements
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Strong writing and documentation skills in relation to reports and training manuals
  • Confident in the use of computers and databases
  • Professional experience, preferably in a technical/teaching assignment would be beneficial
  • Experience in an international working environment
  • Excellent command, written and spoken, of the English language. German and/or French knowledge an advantage
