WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Rheinmetall Canada is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist whose main challenge will be to develop strategies and to provide all services pertaining to acquisition of goods and services for the company. Reporting to the procurement director, the incumbent will work closely with stakeholders from different sectors of the company. Making use of influence and leadership, the procurement specialist will play a key role at Rheinmetall Canada and contribute significantly to the growth of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, issue and follow-up request for proposals packages.
  • Research and identify potential suppliers and subcontractors. 
  • Make commercial evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors’ commercial proposals with a multi-disciplinary team of SMEs from project, engineering, operation, quality groups, as applicable, and provide recommendations.
  • Draft, revise, negotiate and manage contractual agreements such as letters of intent, non-disclosure agreements, service agreements and subcontract agreements including flow down of program terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate prices and commercial terms and conditions in accordance with company policies to ensure favorable business conditions and protection of Rheinmetall’s interest.
  • Prepare and send some complex purchase orders and ensure rigorous monitoring.
  • Follow contractual issues arising during contract performance, participate and recommend actions for resolution.
  • Undertake assigned projects relating to the subcontracts management and maintain a project tracker, provide summaries, presentations, internal reports, business cases on projects along with other activities, as required.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Law or in a relevant field of study.
  • At least 3 years of Procurement, Subcontract Management or Contact Administration experience is required.
  • Experience in the legal field to understand contract/subcontract, negotiate and draft contractual agreements.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and to influence without formal authority.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and accommodate changing priorities.
  • Fluent in French and English, excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
  • Knowledge of SAP will be an asset.
