  • Continuously develop systems engineering tools, processes, and capabilities in the tactical business unit
  • Lead teams to perform system level analysis to specification of subsystem requirements to internal development team and subcontractors
  • Lead requirements analysis and specification of subsystems as part of the overall system design process
  • Define the assurance required to meet key performance requirements through analysis and testing
  • Lead the development of architectural models, use cases, system task analyses and functional flow block diagrams for the various vehicle systems
  • Manage specifications for interface requirements between subsystems
  • Defining appropriate technical performance metrics (e.g. mass, power, etc.) and assigning performance budgets to technical work packages and ensuring the required level of performance for the work packages
  • Management of the Rheinmetall design review process, including review of packages for the various mandated systems review activities
  • Define and develop the verification and validation methodologies in close collaboration with the V&V Manager
  • Collaborate with FEA, operating environment, EMC, human factors, safety, environmental and regulatory subject matter experts to develop subsets of derived requirements
  • Identify key risks and issues and develop corrective actions, as required
  • Perform system-level trade-offs to determine the optimal architectural design within the system design boundaries for the vehicle


  • Successfully completed university degree in the field of engineering
  • More than 10 years of relevant experience, including significant systems engineering experience
  • Experience performing system-level trade-offs to determine the optimal architectural design within the system design constraints for the vehicle
  • Applied knowledge of turret and weapons systems design
  • Ability to use requirements management software (DOORS)
  • Previous experience in the defense industry delivering complex platforms/systems is a plus
  • Eligibility for government security clearance and ability to meet hiring requirements
  • Fluent in both written and spoken German and English
