• Carrying out cost and value analysis activities for a wide variety of production processes, such as primary forming, forming or machining, assembly processes, electronics production, coating, etc.
  • Initiation of cost reduction programmes for purchased components
  • Conducting interdisciplinary cost workshops with suppliers both in the product development process and in series production
  • Determination of target costs at assembly level
  • Collaboration in the preparation of calculations for new projects as well as support in initial enquiries to suppliers
  • Material cost tracking and cost estimation


  • Degree in mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering (m/f/d) or comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in industrial purchasing, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Sound commercial and technical knowledge
  • Knowledge of cost calculation, production planning as well as manufacturing processes and tooling concepts
  • Independent and goal-oriented work
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Pleasure in teamwork
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • Willingness to travel
