ITEA & Trials Engineer
Rheinmetall Electronics UK Ltd. in Warminster
Hiv. szám: UK00795
Schedule type: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract
At OMNIA Training, we’ve brought together some of the UK’s most innovative defence training organisations into a single consortium to delivery one powerful mission: to transform the British Army’s training system and create the best-trained Army in the world.
OMNIA Training will redefine the British Army’s collective training, standing up as the Army’s Strategic Training Partner. To do that, we are looking for the best and brightest minds from across the UK. We are backed by British innovation and powered by world-class experts, like you.
OMNIA Training is primed by Raytheon UK, but all five partners (Raytheon, Rheinmetall, Capita, Skyral and Cervus) are key to delivering the scope of the contract.
Supporting innovation, Rheinmetall Electronics UK (REUK) is entrusted with the trialling and acceptance of new products into the Army training system.
This is more than a job — it’s a mission. You will be part of a high-impact, collaborative environment, where we expect everyone to live the values and standards of the British Army. Every person in our team plays a critical role in delivering OMNIA Training’s vision; designing, delivering, and transforming collective training so the British Army is ready to fight and win.
As a member of the Integration, Test, Evaluation, and Acceptance (ITEA) team, you will contribute to the rigorous testing, verification, and validation of new and updated Products, Services, and Systems (PSS). Working under the guidance of the ITEA Lead, your efforts will support the smooth transition of capabilities into the ACTS service, ensuring alignment with Defence architectural standards, safety requirements, and interoperability goals.
You will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of structured testing and trials as part of the Verification, Trial, and Experimentation Plan (VTEP). Your work will help confirm that solutions meet defined capability and integration requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work within advanced test environments and collaborate with engineering, acquisition, and operational teams across Defence. You will play an important part in validating capability performance, supporting system interoperability, and ensuring readiness for service across next-generation simulation training systems.
Required, necessary for the role
- Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Defence Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience in Test & Evaluation, System Integration, or Trials Engineering in a Defence, or similar environment.
- Demonstrated experience in executing trials.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a distributed team
- Good communication and teamwork skills and stakeholder management skills.
Desired, would be helpful for the role
- Experience with open training and simulation standards:
- High-Level Architecture (HLA)
- Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS)
- UCATT, MILES, or similar systems
- Knowledge of CT systems, mission training tools, and synthetic environments.
- Familiarity with the UK MOD Land Industrial Strategy, acquisition lifecycle, and ITEA governance models (e.g. Knowledge in Defence (KiD), Defence Equipment and Support processes (DE&S).
- Experience with Defence architectural compliance (e.g. GBA, GSA, GVA) and capability development frameworks, or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualifications or certification in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE), Test &; Evaluation, or Programme Management.
Personal Attributes
We’re looking for a proactive and pragmatic ITEA professional who thrives in complex, regulated environments and takes ownership of delivering robust, evidence-based outcomes. You’ll be someone who understands the importance of aligning technical verification and trials activity with real-world operational
needs, ensuring that new capabilities are not only compliant, but also usable, effective, and fit for purpose in the hands of the end-user.
Whether you have direct experience in Defence or transferable skills from a similar field, success in this role will require you to be comfortable navigating both the big picture and the finer technical detail, from coordinating structured trials and analysing data, to communicating test outcomes to senior stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll work across multidisciplinary teams, military users, and industry partners to plan, execute, and report on critical ITEA activities.
As OMNIA, we are looking for individuals who want to serve. You’ll have a mission focus, and the enthusiasm and drive to ‘get things done’. You’ll want to work in collaboration with other defence training organisations, and the British Army. You won’t let bureaucracy get in the way of what needs to be done, you’ll learn lessons and share these lessons across the team. You won’t necessarily have a military background, but you’ll understand what it means to serve and to put the mission first.
