WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To develop, update and maintain software required for Product Development. To development products as part of a project team in the PD Department. To provide technical support for series production. System engineering within the Explosives group to develop ammunition to market and strategic requirements.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Development of new simulation and/or prediction codes, programs and software.
- Design and Development of new products.
- Analysis of requirements and preparation of proposals and specifications for technical solutions.
- Development of technical information for both internal and external use.
- Designing within PD and co-ordinating specific design & development projects for new products and on-going developments.
- Manages product Data Packs / Master Record Indexes
- Aid with the manufacture of prototypes and pilot batches.
- Provides inputs to the development of project plans in terms of technical path and budgeting.
- Generation of proposals for product improvements and new developments.
- Preparation of product/project presentations for internal and external customers.
- Assist in the preparation of technical literature such a brochures and specifications.
- Aid in tender and contractual compliance verifications.
- Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/Quality/Environmental/Energy
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
POST REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Programming/ Engineering/ Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics.
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Programming, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics would be advantageous.
- At least 3-5 years’ experience post qualification.
- Design and development experience in a product development environment in the defence industry would be advantageous
- An advanced level of computer literacy is essential.
- Able to work independently or interactively as a member of a team.
- Good communication skills (verbal, written & interpersonal).
- Self-motivated with creative and innovative mind.
- Good problem solving and relationship skills.
- Good interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills.
- Good communication, planning and organizing skills.
- Fundamental computer literacy: MS Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook), online collaboration tools e.g. Webex Meetings
