WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The position is available in Kassel or Kiel
- Disciplinary and technical responsibility, including the design and further development of the functional and logical system architecture for our systems
- Ensuring consistent, model-based functional and behavioral descriptions (MBSE / SysML, state and sequence models, function chains) as a binding reference for the E/E architecture and HW/SW development based on them
- Deriving, structuring, and maintaining system requirements at the functional and logical levels—including traceability to stakeholder requirements and to verification/validation activities
- Representing the functional perspective in cross-departmental and cross-domain committees
- Establishing, standardizing, and continuously improving methods, processes, and toolchains in the field of systems engineering / MBSE (including requirements, configuration, and change management)
- Integrating safety, SOTIF, and security requirements into the functional-logical specification and ensuring their consistent consideration throughout the entire development process
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a comparable technical field
- Several years of professional experience in systems and functional development in the automotive, defense, or aerospace sectors, ideally in a role as a systems architect, functional architect (m/f/d), or in leading relevant teams
- In-depth knowledge of systems engineering and MBSE methods, proficiency in SysML and UML, as well as experience with state, activity, and sequence diagrams and functional logic models
- A deep understanding of modern E/E vehicle architectures (domain/zone architectures, distributed functions, communication networks) and their implications for functional interfaces and allocation
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, particularly when working with multiple stakeholders and when explaining complex technical issues to management, partners, and customers
- Willingness to travel occasionally for project and supplier coordination
