About the Team

Based out of our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Queensland, the Research and Technology department consists of a small and highly capable team, working on innovative technologies to enhance Australia’s military capability. RDA’s Research and Technology (R&T) department includes development areas across each of our primary divisions; Vehicle Systems, Digital Solutions, and Weapons, Ammunition and Protection.

About the Role

The Product Lead – Advanced Sensors & Effectors will lead the innovation and development of technical solutions within the R&T department. They will actively seek and define capability gaps within RDAs customer base and product portfolio, shaping opportunities to be addressed by technology development. The Product Lead – Advanced Sensors & Effectors will contribute to the project management of the R&T department, ensuring the project teams are aligned in regards to scope, schedule and cost. The successful candidate will also provide Engineering Management capabilities including system conception and architecture design, systems engineering lifecycle and management of assigned engineering resources.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Engineering field or related discipline;
  • Extensive experience as an Engineer within the Australian Defence Industry;
  • Familiarity with Defence regulatory requirements related to product development including Safety and Cyber Security;
  • Willingness and ability to travel interstate and internationally when required; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
