The Sr. Human Resources Specialist serves as a key Human Resources professional at the Fountain Inn Plant with primary responsibilities for US payroll administration, health & welfare and retirement benefits administration as well as other Human Resources functions.

This role ensures accurate and compliant payroll processing, assists with the day-to-day administration of health & welfare and retirement benefits and supports the Human Resource operations of the Fountain Inn Plant. Also acts as a trusted resource for the NA Human Resources Director, as well as the Fountain Inn Leadership Team and employees.

This position also supports organizational initiatives that promote compliance, operational excellence and employee engagement and relations at the Fountain Inn Plant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately process payroll process while ensuring compliance with company policies and all applicable laws.
  • Administer quarterly bonus payments and annual Management by Objectives (MbO) in accordance with company timeline.
  • Administer annual merit process in accordance with company timeline.
  • Administer annual payroll processes (i.e. W2s and 1095 Forms).
  • Primary contact for employee benefit inquiries/issues, including medical, dental, vision, disability and retirement programs.
  • Administer FMLA requests and ensure consistent application of policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain and ensure FMLA, ADA, STD and LTD employee cases are updated on a bi-weekly basis. Communicate updates as necessary to employees.
  • Administer the STD Process with the disability administrator.
  • Administer the annual 401(k) Non-Discrimination Testing Process.
  • Process 401(k) contribution elections, loans and contribution process.
  • Administer the annual Benefits Open Enrollment Process and related activities (communications, meetings, programming of payroll system).
  • Provide day-to-day support of HR Activities to HR Generalist and NA Human Resources Director.
  • Support employee relation activities.
  • Assist with HR compliance activities and documentation.
  • Support employee engagement and other initiatives as assigned.
  • Support NA Human Resources Director in continuous improvement of HR Process and Practices.
  • Completes the Quarterly Hourly Bonuses and pays them accurately by the 3rd pay day after end of the Quarter.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll, benefits administration and HR Generalist functions, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred).
  • Working knowledge of federal and state payroll, tax and wage/hour regulations.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of FMLA, ADA, HIPAA and employee benefits (health and welfare and retirement) administration.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
  • Bi-Lingual (Fluent in Spanish preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word, Outlook, & Teams)
