Systems Engineer

About the Team

Based primarily out of our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Queensland, our Digital Systems (DSY) division delivers mission-critical products and training equipment related to both the LAND400-2 and HWC programs. Reporting into the Senior Systems Engineer, this position will play an important role in the delivery of our products, contributing significantly to Australia’s Defence capability. 

About the Role

As a Systems Engineer within the Digital Systems division at RDA, you will be responsible for deriving complex customer requirements into valid and verifiable design solutions. The successful candidate will assist in executing the Systems Engineering Program for DSY within technical, cost and schedule constraints. As a Systems Engineer with RDA, you could expect some of your daily tasking to include:

• System and sub-system specification development and management;
• Participation in both formal and informal design reviews;
• Provide technical support to the project team at MILVEHCOE and customer sites; and
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary development teams in order to produce designs that meet our customers’ specifications.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, etc.);
• Previous experience working as a Systems Engineer;
• Relevant experience within Defence Industry or related industry;
• Ability to identify and assess technical solutions to meet functional requirements;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders; and
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
