Senior Production Planner

The Senior Production Planner will be accountable for the development, co-ordination and execution of production plans in line with the sales plan while ensuring quality and timeliness deliverables. The Senior Planner will manage the planning process, guide junior planners/planners and work order administrators, as well contribute to strategic planning initiatives within the organization.  

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Procurement requirements are processed on time.
• Lead stock count for responsible plants.
• Review of manufacturing Bills of Materials.
• Review of manufacturing bill of processes and production versions.
• Manage and correct MPS and communicate plan for on time delivery to sales plan.
• Review the captured production data and or book production when necessary.
• Arrange inter-site collection of goods and delivery of complete products to other sites.
• Overview the capturing and reporting of works orders and WIP. Resolve discrepancies.
• Provide accurate input into all RFQ and Contract execution meetings.
• Complete and update all management reports (KPI reporting).

• National Diploma with Commerce/ Production /Supply Chain related majors or any relevant NQF 6 equivalent qualification.
• Extensive experience in ERP/ MRP within a manufacturing or production environment namely SAP.
• 7-10 years’ work experience in the manufacturing/ supply chain/ operational planning environment.
• Previous experience in a planning role.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills with sound persuasive and client relationship skills.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Advanced computer literacy (particularly in Excel and SAP).
