About the Team

Located in Holden Hill, the Training Management System (TMS) team develops and enhances learning management systems which are specifically tailored for our end users.

About the Role

In order to achieve security authorisation in accordance with Australian Defence standards and processes, the Cyber Security Engineer contributes to the comprehensive design, implementation and documentation of the Land 400 Training Management System cyber security measures to safeguard system integrity and resilience.

As part this role you will develop the required security documentation, perform threat risk assessments and define necessary treatment and mitigation controls. This includes the compliance with Australian cyber security requirements.

As Cyber Security Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Development and implementation of security governance in accordance with Defence frameworks and procedures;
  • Conduct threat and risk assessments, identify and recommend treatment controls and mitigation strategies;
  • Conceive of and recommend security solutions in response to requirements;
  • Author or review project deliverables wrt product security, e.g. Security Risk Management Plan, System Security Plan and other Security artefacts;
  • Advise and support the engineering teams with the implementation of treatment controls;
  • Analyse existing product solutions making recommendations to resolve deficiencies and providing detailed reporting regarding risks to physical and cyber security;
  • Liaise with internal and external Security Organisations and Government/Defence Security Organisations; and
  • Engagement with relevant accreditation bodies on matters relating to ICT accreditation.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Cyber Security Engineering experience with software development, computer networks and embedded software systems (ideally within a defence environment);
  • Experience with DSPF and ISM;
  • Relevant experience with security governance;
  • Excellent written English skills; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
