WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Supervisor II primary responsibility is to manage all activities related to the manufacturing and assembly of charge propelling 155mm.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and control resources to ensure the efficient manufacturing of charges.
- Maintain production schedule and productivity
- Read, interpret, implement and ensure compliance with Product Specifications, Product Manufacturing Instructions (PMI), Facility Operating Instructions (FOI) and Control Plans (CP)
- Effectively manage and maintain training of personnel
- Maintain explosives environment housekeeping standards and SHE requirements in line with organizational requirements and the Explosives Act.
- Analyze production data such as shift output and rectify bottlenecks.
- Liaise with other functional groups regarding requirements.
- Lead and manage the implementation, and maintenance, of LEAN principles and methodologies within the respective facility.
- Responsible and ethical leadership with a strong ability to maintain discipline
- Knowledge of daily reports and accuracy of information
- Manage consumables and stationery; issue, record, monitor and load requests.
- Monitor maintenance schedules, observe trends and give corrective actions if applicable.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Attention to detail
- Manage and monitor scrap and waste; determine the cause of deviation and initiate corrective action.
- Responsible for monitoring stock levels and accurate recording of stock.
- Read, write and communicate in English
- Communicate daily targets to the team and provide feedback to the Line Manager.
- Any other ad hoc task as requested by the Line Manager
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
POST REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum qualification: National Senior Certificate or equivalent.
- Atleast 5 years’ experience in explosives or chemical manufacturing with 2 years in a Supervisory role.
- Knowledge of different Charge assembly and handling of hazardous substances and explosive material.
- Ability to make decisions, take initiative and demonstrate good judgement.
- Knowledge of ERP systems related to manufacturing.
