The Payroll Specialist and Financial Analysis Support role plays an integral part in the company, offering support with a variety of tasks to assist with the provision of a high quality, professional service and is responsible for the control of the monthly payroll processing and reporting. This role also takes responsibility for processing changes to payroll throughout the month and working closely with the HR department. The role also supports the business's financial analysis functions.
Responsibilities
- Setting up of all new starters on the payroll system and for any eligible company benefits
- Ensuring any changes throughout the month are reflected in payroll
- Owning all necessary payroll tasks throughout the month and ensuring payroll deadlines are met
- Calculation of payments including maternity, paternity and sick pay
- Taking accountability for the accuracy of the payroll
- Running the monthly payroll using Sage 50 Payroll
- Ensuring the payments to the Company pension provider and HMRC are made on time
- Monthly reconciliation of the payroll figures
- Provision of all necessary and relevant reports to Finance
- Ensuring that all benefits are recorded and dealt with accordingly through the payroll
- Calculation of Class 1A NICs due for submission on the P11D(b)
- Managing the company PSA Agreement
- Managing submissions for PAYE and year-end ensuring these are carried out by the necessary deadlines
- Setting up and processing the necessary reports and entries for the participants in the Rheinmetall
Share Scheme - Generating all necessary P45 and P60 documents
- Offboarding leavers from payroll, including final salary payment calculations and providing
documentation and leaver letters - Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
Skills & Experience Required
- Payroll software expertise (minimum of 5 years and preferably SAGE Payroll), financial analysis and reporting, especially in Excel, using pivot tables and look-ups.
- Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal abilities.
