About the Team

The multi disciplined team consisting of Configuration Managers, Configuration Controllers and Data Transfer Controllers maintains all configuration and data information and artefacts (parts, drawings, documents, changes) for a complex variety of defence vehicles and products produced for our customers.

The team is organised in accordance with the current Programs and collaborates with Engineering, Supply Chain, Production and all impacted stakeholders reliant of configuration management data for the delivery of contracts and production of vehicles.

About the Role

As the Engineering Capability Manager Configuration and Information Management (ECM & IM), you play a pivotal role in establishing, maintaining and managing RDA’s CDM environment.  The function supports artefact development activity to a consistent standard within an appropriate environment, to ensure consistency of product development and management through the product life cycle. This multifaceted role is anchored in four strategic pillars: Configuration Management, Change Management, Process Tools and Planning, Policy and Procedures.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Significant experience and familiarity with CM standards such as ISO, ITIL and CMMI;
  • Significant experience defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures;
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering and ASDEFCON;
  • Establish and maintain Program CM systems, document and software libraries;
  • Communicate CM status to CM Management and Program Management;
  • Document and perform hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures;
  • Willing to travel interstate or internationally when required; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
