About the Team

Our ICT team, operating out of our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Queensland, consists of a number of collaborative and supportive individuals dedicated to providing a high level of customer service to the wider business.

About the Role

The ICT Automation Specialist, reporting to the Infrastructure Team Lead and the Infrastructure Manager, will focus on delivering automation solutions that streamline business processes and support the integration of third-party systems within the IT environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in streamlining process, automating workflows, as well as implementing robust CI/CD pipelines that enhance our development and deployment cycles. Some of your other daily tasking will include:

 

  • Contribution to the development and delivery of both on-premise and cloud infrastructure solutions;
  • Oversee the integration and automation of systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and reliability;
  • Ownership of selected Linux systems to ensure continuous patching and monitoring;
  • Alignment of all technical decisions with IT Enterprise Architect; and
  • Effective collaboration with the IT Operations Manager and Security Team to ensure that new technical solutions are aligned correctly.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Proven experience within an automation position utilising Python in enterprise environments;
  • Strong proficiency in DevOps methodologies and automation tools, including CI/CD pipelines, GitHub or GitLab, Packer, Terraform, or Pulumi;
  • Proven experience using Ansible for automating repetitive tasks;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team;
  • Experience with database technologies, including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB;
  • Experience in integrating platforms and systems via REST APIs; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
