As Director of business development at Rheinmetall Canada, your main challenge will be to achieve significant order intake for strategic Canadian and international opportunities. You will lead the development and positioning of Rheinmetall Canada’s capabilities in air defense and surveillance markets from pursuit decision to contract closure.

Here are your main responsibilities:

  • Achieve significant order intakes for strategic Canadian and international opportunities.
  • Support the development and positioning of capabilities in order to win defence and other strategic markets.
  • Develop and execute important opportunities/strategies and capture/pursuit plans.
  • Develop innovative proposals and deliver strategic executive presentations.
  • Lead complex pursuit and capture teams, developing win themes and strategy as a team.
  • Positioning of Rheinmetall Canada with all levels of governments
  • Maintain intimate awareness of competitive market offerings and new technologies.
  • Communicate and execute the capture management plan, including price to win, competitive analysis, design to cost, and drive a broad multidisciplined team of resources in accordance with the plan.

The skills we are looking for:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering and an MBA, or the equivalent.
  • Have at least 10 years of experience in the defence and security industry in a similar position.
  • Have in depth experience or knowledge of Canadian government procurement mechanisms.
  • Have experience in strategic and tactical planning, as well as in the execution of major multimillion dollar opportunities.
  • Possess strong skills in strategic partnering, teaming agreements, and subcontract positioning.
  • Possess commercial and business acumen coupled with balanced negotiation skills.
  • Have strong financial literacy in leading estimating, cost rollups, and proactive risk management.
  • Be ambitious, motivated, positive, and have high energy with outstanding influencing skills.
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written), proficiency in French would be an asset.
