Logistics Intern

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Logistics Intern will be responsible for the successful mapping of shipping plan for all RDM products, execution of shipping plan and delivery of final product from point of origin to the client at the agreed time and place.

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:

• Assist the transport planner on coordinating inter-site product movements.
• Assist in processing of invoices for transport and logistics service providers.
• Assist in monitoring of transport and shipping related activities.
• Assisting in shipping coordination as and when required.
• Tracking of transport open requisitions and processing of insurance claims for vehicles.
• Assist with maintaining the vehicle management system including vehicle maintenance schedules, allocation letters to user departments etc.
• Assist transport planner with vehicle licensing responsibilities to ensure compliance at all times.
• Assist with warehouse management activities including stock take, inventory control, warehouse housekeeping.
• Assist logistics engineer on warehousing and logistics related projects.
• Adhere to all applicable legislation within RDM.
• Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/ Quality/ Environmental/ Energy.

• NQF 6 in Operations/Transportation/Logistic or any relevant qualification.
• Fully computer literate (all MS Office packages).
• Excellent communication skills and high level of professionalism.
• Strong planning, organising and administrative skills.
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and office protocol.
• A valid driver’s license.
