Position Summary:
The role of the Director of Sales North America is to lead the US based sales team and to develop product based global growth strategies with the emphasis on North American OEM’s. This requires the ability to efficiently operate in a global matrix organization supplemented by strong communication and leadership skills.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Managerial and leadership experience
• 7+ years of experience in the sales organization of a OEM supplier
• Bachelor in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering enhanced by a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning:
- Implement a continuous strategic process, to successfully market Pierburg’s products in the North American market
- Develop and prepare annual 5 year sales forecast at the product and customer level
- Identifying and reporting of business opportunities at key customers and markets
- Create and execute customer specific acquisition strategies
- Develop and launch new customer strategy, particularly for Asian OEM’s
- Represent NAFTA specific customer expectations to the global Pierburg organization
Acquisition & Deployment:
- Realize growth opportunities and booked business targets
- Manage and lead quotation process using the Pierburg DRIVE Model
- Develop and improve customer relationships with customer’s purchasing leadership team
- Improve customer satisfaction
- Lead annual price negotiation with local OEM’s
Operational Management:
- Manage and develop the sales team of Account Managers and Sales Representatives 20%
- Budget responsibilities for sales cost centers 5%
- Establish and maintain effective communications within a global matrix organization 10%
- Manage receivables and customer reimbursements 5%
- Lead quote calculation process and drive profit margin improvements on existing product 10%
