American Rheinmetall Munitions’ HAMMR is based on Rheinmetall’s SSW40, the world’s first magazine-fed, semi-automatic 40mm grenade launcher for high-velocity rounds. The SSW40 introduces a breakthrough in dismounted firepower, enabling rapid follow-up shots, increased readiness, and the use of both standard and programmable airburst 40mm rounds. Since 2017, Expal USA has demilitarized and destroyed over three and a half million munitions, ranging from small-arms ammunition to large cluster bomb units. Through in-house engineering and on-site EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) specialists, the company has developed safe and efficient methods for disassembling and demilitarizing various types of ordnance. 

Since 2017, Expal USA has utilized an SDC 1500 and specialized off-gas treatment system to safely dispose of approximately two million munitions.

Since 2024, Expal USA has increased its focus on recycling and reuse of munitions material. Two newly implemented processes now successfully reuse or recycle over 80% of material received.

Located near the hub of three major interstates, Expal USA can easily ship and receive all types of ordnance, and with over 40 bunkers the company can house various explosive materials for short or long-term periods.
