WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

About the Team

This role will see you working in a team of 7 Field Service Technicians, all focusing on the Land 121 program or work. The FST’s form part of the greater Service and Support division which also encompasses Trades Assistants, Mechanics, Maintenance Planners, Data Controllers and Technical Advisors. This role will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank, but will require travel across South East QLD.

About the Role

The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing maintenance and advisory services for logistics vehicles, whilst delivering reliable, high quality and timely service support to the customer.

As a Field Service Technician, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Working at various sites to conduct, assist and or supervise in diagnosis and repairs on RDA supported vehicles;
  • Documenting work order information in the RDA ERP/ISSDB & customer systems MILIS / SAP;
  • Being the face of the Rheinmetall brand when engaging with customers/stakeholders;
  • Checking and monitoring the repair progress of supported vehicles and associated mission systems;
  • Checking and resolving requests for warranty settlement topic completeness, accuracy and plausibility;
  • Providing Maintenance Advisory Services as a subject matter expert on Rheinmetall products;
  • Undertaking Acceptance and documentation of technical inquiries from the customer/end user;
  • Performing technical investigations associated with faults or damages of equipment; and
  • Preparing reports associated with technical investigations, including technical inspection reports or technical briefs.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic;
  • Proven experience maintaining a fleet of (light, medium and heavy) trucks, servicing and repairing diesel engine and heavy trucks/equipment;
  • Experience working with trucks / equipment specifically from European manufacturers;
  • Automotive diagnostic skills, specifically with European manufacturers;
  • CANBUS experience;
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision;
  • Ability to travel when required; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
