WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business.
  • Responsible for work relating to all on-site HR activities, including but not limited to, training, succession planning, onboarding, background checks, drug testing setup, discipline, employee relations, disciplinary actions, performance management, etc.
  • Incident reporting and record keeping.
  • Ensuring the Company remains OSHA compliant including the completion, filing and maintenance of Forms 300 and 301.
  • Ensure the Company remains compliant with the Department of Homeland Security by ensuring all employees are verified to work, via the completion of Form I-9’s and E-Verify.
  • Develop best practice recruitment processes that will help Pierburg US, LLC attract and grow top talent.
  • Partner with all levels of managers to define and align retention and recruiting strategies.
  • Ensure the Company remains compliant with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Responsible for the management and handling of all Family Medical Leave Act and Short Term Disability process and Worker’s Compensation
  • Implement organizational change to foster a high-performance work
  • Manage the plant’s performance appraisal system which includes, but is not limited to, planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results, training managers to Coach and discipline employees, schedule management conferences with employees, and counsel associates and supervisors.
  • Nurture a positive working environment. Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human
  • Formulate, monitor, analyze and report HR data and turnover Use this data to develop strategic programs and plans to enhance all areas of human resources and the business.
  • Proficiency with Health & Welfare & Retirement Benefits Administration and Compliance.
  • Act as lead liaison for all HR related topics in internal and external audits, including but not limited to, IATF, BE, worker’s compensation insurer etc.
  • Administer and lead the management of the plant’s immigration process for green card and/or visa applications.
  • Analyze and maintain personnel records and compile statistical reports. Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices.
  • Remain current on all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Manage all payroll activities
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to drive continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Protect and maintain employee confidentiality
  • Ensures compliance in accordance with Company policy, federal, state and local statutory requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring the Company is compliant with all filings requested and/or required by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • Responsible for the handling of all Department of Labor filings and
  • Responsible for the handling of all South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce audits.
  • Strong knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission proceedings / process, including the ability to prepare Position Statements and response to Requests for Documentation.
  • Lead and maintain all Key Performance Indicators for all departments within the plant.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and either represent the Company or work with internal counsel to attend related hearings.

Education / Experience

  • 4 years degree in HR or related field or equivalent experience
  • An is strongly preferred.
  • HR Professional Certification(s) are strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years human resources generalist experience plus,
  • 5+ years manufacturing plant management experience
  • Working computer knowledge & proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • HRIS knowledge/experience
  • Strong knowledge of labor and employment law

On-Site Attendance

  • This position is not remote.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Knowledge

  • Human Resources – Knowledge of principles and procedures for HR and strong working knowledge of HR processes and procedures
  • Administration and Management – Knowledge of business and management principles, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources
  • Law and Government - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules and the democratic political process

Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in several HR processes and practices (labor relations, organization development, leadership development, compensation, payroll, etc.) along with demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to work through complex business issues and identify required HR interventions.
  • Detailed knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, safety, benefits administration, immigration and payroll.
  • General understanding of business strategies, finance, marketing and sales activities.
  • Must have proven leadership ability, excellent interpersonal skills, consulting skills and the ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem resolution skills along with customer service and team orientation skills
  • Attention to Detail – Being careful about accuracy and thoroughness in completing work tasks and monitoring own work to ensure quality product

Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work without close supervision, produce quality work and complete periodic special projects independently, while maintaining focus and sense of urgency in an environment with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to compile reports from various spreadsheets and databases
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must maintain utmost level of confidentiality due to the sensitivity of the work in this department
  • Communication with Supervisors, Peers or Subordinates – Providing information to Supervisors, co-workers and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail or in- person.
