Logistics Intern - Stores

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Logistics Intern will provide support in the warehouse environment by receiving, issuing raw materials/chemicals to the production plants on time. This can be done by successfully keeping 100% stock accuracy, incoming and outgoing warehouse transactions as well as general proper housekeeping.

KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS:

• Assist in issuing of stock items correctly by ensuring that quantities are not compromised.
• Assist in issuing of stock on SAP timeously.
• Make sure that the picking list/goods issuing document is signed at the time of delivering materials to the end user [Inbound and outbound logistics].
• Assist in recording stock out and inform responsible material coordinators.
• Compelling list of open reservations versus stock issues, analyse and close old reservations.
• Assist to perform cycle counts daily as well as ad hoc stock counts.
• Packing of stocks on high value items.
• Packing of stock in corrects on high value items.
• Assist in updating bin location on materials from physical location to align with SAP system.
• Assist with the right materials and ensure they are kept in the right warehouse/building at all times.
• Reporting missing/damaged items on located bins.
• Maintain filling system to ensure documentation available for audit.
• Assist and maintain FIFO principle to avoid stock expiry and obsoleting.
• Assist to review and Reg Tag items that are expired, broken, not good for use.
• Perform 5S to contribute to Cleanliness and Continuous Improvement.
• Ensure Logistics procedures and policies are adhered to.
• Ensure stock is safeguarded at all times and maintain controlled access to the warehouse buildings.
• Treat internal and external customers with respect.
• Maintain good relationships and contributing to teamwork with colleagues.
• Adhere to all applicable legislation within RDM.
• Adheres and implements Rheinmetall Denel Munitions Policies and Procedures and ensures compliance to ISO Standards with respect to SHE/ Quality/ Environmental/ Energy.

• NQF 6 in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistic or any relevant qualification.
• Fully computer literate (all MS Office packages).
• Excellent communication skills and high level of professionalism.
• Strong planning, organising and administrative skills.
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality and office protocol.
• A valid driver’s license.
