Project Manager Development at Auburn Hills, MI for Pierburg US, LLC

Duties:

Responsible for developing products based on customer specification, function, and test requirements, engine packaging and manufacturability. Support the manufacturing plant with issue resolution after SOP. Provide ongoing technical support to customers. Prepare concept documents for new products or modules according to customer specifications based on, for example: function, testing, engine packaging, specification sheets, prototype target costs, etc. Initiate 3D modeling, structural and flow simulations, and 2D component drawings according to internal and AIAG GD&T requirements. Establish necessary component tolerances and stack-ups to ensure form, fit and function. Create BOM for prototypes and production parts and establish Design FMEA. Support sample quotations and follow-up for prototype sample timing. Technical responsibility and coordination of all series- related processes with the manufacturing plant and supplier parts. Establish DVP&R document with the customer DRE Engineer and create sign-off. Internally coordinate testing and release processes, analysis of test results, and optimization of component parts resulting from those tests. Present development and test results internally and to the customer. Act as contact person for technical aspects relating to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valves. Support to Quality Assurance Section with regard to quality problems of manufactured products or purchased parts. Support Business opportunities as they relate to EGR products. Apply SAP R3 and standard Office programs (for example, MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Project, MS-Access). Professional co- operation within the project SE- team members as well with the PM. Support serial cost reduction, responsibility for development from quotation stage up to serial production based on Pierburg PDP Process (Drive). Hybrid work schedule available.

Required minimum qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 2 years of Powertrain Product Development or Application Engineering experience.

All qualifying experience must include:

• High level knowledge of Solid Mechanics and Materials Engineering;
• Intermediate skills with MS Office (including Excel);
• Expert understanding and application of CAD and CAE tools
• Demonstrated familiarity with the Powertrain Product Development process.
