About the Team

The Digital Systems Service and Support team is based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Brisbane. You will form a part of small dynamic team, utilising the same facilities and test equipment as the production team. Interfacing with both production and support, you will be an integral part of the RDA team, inside the Digital Systems Division. Your support will be provided through the execution of the LAND 400 Phase 2 Support Contract.

About the Role

The Service and Support Senior Technician is responsible for performing the service (maintenance, troubleshooting and rework) of electronics Mission Equipment. You will be responsible to provide technical advice, troubleshooting and hands on repair in a workshop environment, inside a production facility or via phone call. On rare occasion you may be required to support our field service representatives in the field where technical expertise in our products is required.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 

  • Cert IV in Electronics or Avionics fields;
  • Experience (5+ years) in Electronics/ Optics service environment
  • Experience in the use of electrical/optical test equipment;
  • Understands generic electrical architecture (AC/DC), motors and encoders, system integration (Analogue and Digital) and Defence electronics systems;
  • The ability to relate generic electronics knowledge to unfamiliar systems for troubleshooting and repair;
  • Ability to write work instructions;
  • Ability and willingness to conduct business trips on request;
  • Has a Coaching or Mentoring certificate with proven experience; and
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
