Taking responsibility - together with BVB and beyond
Rheinmetall and BVB are committed to operational readiness and peak performance. On the pitch, Dortmund is known for giving its all. Right now, in a phase of dramatic upheaval in security policy, Rheinmetall is called upon to make great efforts and expand capacities to ensure the protection of people and societies. We are committed to security, democracy, and society within the partnership framework.

Our success as a company and as a leading European club is closely linked to the well-being of the community in which we live. Our engagement also includes standing up for our free democratic basic order.
We actively promote dialog with the media, business and society to fulfill our partnership with Borussia Dortmund. Our goal is always to acknowledge our responsibility for a strong and resilient community.
Centering on safety
When BVB and Rheinmetall announced their partnership at the end of May 2024, the partners from politics, business, and society received encouragement, while there were also clearly critical voices from the fan scene. Just under a year later, Carsten Cramer, CEO of Borussia Dortmund, and Dr. Philipp von Brandenstein, Head of Corporate Communications and Company Spokesman at Rheinmetall AG, talk to Germany's well-known sports magazine kicker.

Resilience: Staying mentally strong when things get difficult
A panel discussion for World Health Day 2026 with former professional footballer, World Cup champion and BVB legend Karl-Heinz Riedle, health economist Prof. Dr. Volker Nürnberg, whose areas of expertise include health prevention, Julia Stump from Rheinmetall’s sustainability team; Rheinmetall Vice President Corporate Health Solutions Carolin-Ann Schmitz; Rheinmetall Senior Vice President Corporate Marketing Daniel Brocker; and occupational social counsellor Jan Hübenet.
Never lose focus
Self-care, patience, and perseverance are crucial. This applies to professional life as well as to sports. Svenja Schlenker, member of the management board and head of girls' and women's football at BVB, explains why in a lecture on International Women's Health Day.

Trainee day in Kassel
How can I stay fit when my work gets stressful? What should I eat when I crave a kebab - but my body deserves something better? And how can I get my brain into high gear? Our trainees spent an entire day with experts receiving tips on fitness, nutrition, and mental strength.
Together for better health
Working for a healthier society – that is what both partners are committed to. Caroline-Ann Schmitz, Vice President Corporate Health Solutions at Rheinmetall, and Christian Diercks, Managing Director of the BVB Evonik Football Academy, take stock of their progress so far.

We are committed to fairness
Participation means that every individual has an equal right to belong. This applies to a company, to a team and to society as a whole. In reality, however, not everyone has the same opportunities to participate. Rheinmetall and BVB are committed to breaking down barriers.
Once a year, managers from Rheinmetall's German sites meet to exchange best practices and identify areas for action. This year's Forum for Fairness and Participation was attended for the first time by external experts, including representatives from BVB. They provided insights into how participation works in their companies and in sport.

Football without fans is like swimming on dry land.
Football without fans is like swimming on dry land. This is why we like to give Rheinmetall employees the opportunity to experience BVB matches live in the stadium. Rheinmetall has around 70 sites across Germany with many fans rooting for Borussia.
At the end of March 2026, colleagues from Bremen attended BVB's home game against HSV. Previously, colleagues from Rheinmetall Landsysteme in Kiel were guests at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK for BVB's home game against Holstein Kiel. Both groups obviously enjoyed the day with a full program including a stadium tour and training with the BVB Evonik Football Academy.
