About us
Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles Australia Pty Ltd (RMMVA) supplies logistic and tactical military vehicles and provides services to the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces. The services include; project management, systems engineering and integration, Through-life support, maintenance and repair as well as spare parts’ management. RMMVA has over 100 personnel in several locations across Australia and New Zealand. RMMVA is part of the Rheinmetall Defence Australia Pty Ltd and a wholly owned subsidiary of Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles GmbH with its Headquarters in Munich, Germany.
Key activities
Australia
In July 2013, RMMVA signed the LAND 121 Phase 3B contract with the Australian Government to supply over 2,500 protected and unprotected medium and heavy logistic vehicles and 3,000 specialist modules to the Australian Defence Force. The first vehicles and modules were delivered in April 2016. Shortly after, the company secured the LAND 121 Phase 5B contract, bringing the total fleet size up to more than 3,500 vehicles.
New Zealand
Shortly before, in April 2013, RMMVA executed a contract with the New Zealand Government to supply 200 logistic military trucks to the New Zealand Defence Force. Following completion of deliveries in 2014, RMMVA now provides local in-services support to the NZDF.

MILVEHCOE – Australia’s Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence
In 2020 Rheinmetall opened the Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence (MILVEHCOE) in Redbank, Queensland. Built from scratch in a record 20 months, the site’s opening heralded a new era of sovereign military design, development and local manufacture of military vehicles, systems and turrets for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and export to its allies. MILVEHCOE is an 11ha precinct incorporating a regional headquarters for Rheinmetall and a major manufacturing hub that is delivering vehicles to the Australian Defence Force including Boxer 8x8 Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles (CRV) under Australia’s billion project Land 400 Phase 2 and high mobility logistics trucks under the Land 121 Phase 3B/5B program.
Rheinmetall manufactures Naval equipment including the Multi-Ammunition Soft-Kill System at Redbank, and with state of the art welding, armour, heavy grade repair, manufacturing and training, the company is delivering advanced capability to Defence Force, whilst expanding its industrial footprint in the Indo-Pacific region.

Vehicle Integration
Under the far-reaching modernization programme Land 121 Phase 3B, Rheinmetall MAN is supplying the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with 2,536 protected and unprotected logistic vehicles and 2,999 specialist modules. This new fleet is comprised of vehicles of varying weight classes and configurations including integrated load handling systems, medium weight cargo variants with and without cranes, medium and heavyweight recovery vehicles, tippers, and tankers. The cab chassis’ are delivered from Rheinmetall MAN’s plant in Vienna, Austria, to the Integration Facility in Brisbane, where the vehicles undergo final installation activities before being delivered to the ADF.
