Rocket Motor Engineer (m/f/d)

  • Develop the know-how and capability to design and develop future rocket programs including mechanical design, casting process tooling, igniter design, insulation application, nozzle mechanical and material design, warhead design, etc.
  • Development of solid rocket motors, their components and tooling
  • Creation of 3D CAD models and design drawings
  • Develop the required technical documentation for manufacturing and testing
  • Perform investigations and technical data analysis
  • Support the industrialization incl. optimization of production processes
  • Support rocket manufacture projects with manufacturing technology to be transferred from external technology providers
  • Coordination with internal and external stakeholders
  • Documentation and presentation of work results
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, post-graduate engineering qualification is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the development process of ammunition or sub-systems for rockets and missiles
  • Understanding of the functions and technology of rocket motors, warheads and safety and arming devices is preferred
  • Good knowledge of mechanical engineering in the areas of design, mechanics, manufacturing technology, tooling design and materials science
  • An advanced level of computer literacy is essential, i.e. design (e.g. Siemens NX; Team Center) and data analysis software
  • The role calls for a focused, safety conscious individual with a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure in an explosive environment
  • Good reading, writing and communication skills in English is essential, the ability to communicate in German will be an advantage
