Eurosatory 2026: Lynx KF41 Recce – Information superiority and drone defence in a single platform

At this year’s Eurosatory trade fair in Paris, Rheinmetall is presenting the latest version of the versatile Lynx KF41 combat vehicle: the Lynx KF41 Recce armoured reconnaissance vehicle was developed to meet the demands of modern, highly dynamic battlefields. As a highly networked ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance) system, it combines reconnaissance, target acquisition, command support and protection in a single platform, thereby making a significant contribution to the information superiority of friendly forces. In doing so, it contributes to transparency on the battlefield. The modern system is also equipped with a Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) kit. Thanks to the advanced sensor technology it contains, drones can be detected as a threat at an early stage and effectively and efficiently countered using the main armament’s existing airburst-capable munitions. The integration of the C-UAS kit into the LANCE architecture makes the system user-friendly and, like the turret, allows it to be retrofitted into other platforms.

The Lynx KF41 Recce combines state-of-the-art reconnaissance and firepower components on a highly protected and future-proof combat platform. Equipped with the proven two-man LANCE turret and the powerful 30 mm MK30-2/ABM autocannon, the system has the capability to effectively counter both  conventional and modern threats. A telescopic sensor mast with high-performance reconnaissance sensors significantly extends the observation and reconnaissance range, enabling the early detection and identification of targets even under complex operational conditions. The range of capabilities is complemented by the StrikeShield active protection system, which significantly increases the platform’s survivability against modern threats and takes crew protection to a new level. The combination of high-resolution sensors, networked command and control capabilities, active protection systems and precise effectiveness makes the Lynx KF41 Recce a powerful ISTAR system for the digitalised conduct of operations by land forces.

With the Lynx KF41 Recce, Rheinmetall demonstrates the consistent further development of the Lynx family into a fully networked combat vehicle system for digitalised operations management. The aim has been, and remains, for the combat vehicle family to meet current and future requirements in the land, cyber and information domains. The Lynx KF41 stands for maximum modularity. The open system architecture enables the rapid integration of new sensors, effectors and digital applications, ensuring that the Lynx will also meet future technological and operational requirements.

With its spacious interior, a scalable weight concept, a highly efficient drive system and state-of-the-art protection technology, the Lynx KF41 combines mobility with maximum safety. At the same time, the Lynx impresses with its high level of ergonomics for the crew, enabling efficient and comfortable operation even during long missions.

With orders and users from Europe and beyond, the Lynx is increasingly establishing itself as one of the leading combat vehicle platforms of its generation. The growing international user base creates synergies in training, logistics and further development, and strengthens the long-term interoperability of the armed forces
Hungary has ordered over 200 vehicles. Just at the end of May, Romania ordered almost 300 units. 

Further orders have come from Italy – where it is built in collaboration with Leonardo – and Ukraine. Rheinmetall involves local industry in the production of the combat vehicle.
